Dan Burks
Pastor

Dan grew up in Sweet Home, Oregon and moved to Nebraska in 1985 to attend Scottsbluff School of Evangelism. He graduated in 1989 and served as an associate minister and minister in Oregon until 1996. He attended Lincoln Christian Seminary's Chicago Center for Urban Mission, graduating with an MA in Ministry to Muslims (with an emphasis in church planting among Muslims) in 1999. While in Chicago he ministered as a pastoral counselor in the Cabrini - Green housing project.

Dan and Julie joined Team Expansion in 1999 and, after raising support and language school, moved to Simferopol, Ukraine. While in Ukraine he worked among the Crimean Tatars (a Muslim people group), participating in 3 church plants and also teaching at Crimean American College. In 2005 he transferred to Team Expansion's International Services in Louisville, Kentucky where he served in Team Expansion's Equipping Department until September, 2009.

Dan and Julie have been married 23 years. They have a beautiful daughter, McKenzie (21) and a wonderful son, Kyle (19). Dan enjoys reading (anything from theology and philosophy to fantasy), sports, chess, hiking, hanging out with family and friends, listening to music and making poor attempts to play what he hears on guitar.

Nena Alsaker
Worship Leader,
Choir Director

Nena and her family (husband and mother) moved to Foscoe in 1995 after leaving the heat of Southeast Florida. Since she had been involved with church music all of her life, it was only natural for her and her family to get involved with the choir shortly after starting to attend Foscoe Christian. Nena has stayed involved with our music ministry – through singing and playing both the piano and organ for a number of years. This past year, Nena worked as the interim choir director and then accepted the position full time in October.

The choir works hard and really loves to sing for God. We work to bring new music into our repertoire, but we still love to sing the old hymns and anthems. We try to incorporate both old and new in our choir’s music and into the congregational singing as well. We want everyone to feel welcomed and sing with us for the Glory of God.

Diana Calloway
Office Administrator

Diana has been a member of Foscoe Christian Church since 1973. She has been the Office Administrator for the past seven years. She and her husband, Chris, have twin daughters, Lauren and Alanna. Diana has always had a big heart for children. She loves reading, playing the piano, and spending time with family and friends.

Mary Taylor
Pianist

Mary or “Missy” is a volunteer who has been with Foscoe Christian Church since 1978. While her primary role at Foscoe is a pianist she has also served the congregation in many other areas including organist, treasurer, and youth worker. Mary and her husband David have one child, Mary Rachael, who is in college.

Margo Buchanan
Organist

Margo and her family became involved as soon as they joined Foscoe in 1985. In addition to playing the organ, Margo has also served as choir director and pianist. Margo and her husband, Bucky, have two children, Laura and Jonathan. Margo does everything to bring honor and Glory to God.
